It’s a beautiful thing when party people come together. At least, that’s what rising pop supernova Rose Gray proved during her impromptu show at NYC hotspot Jean’s on July 23. Her breakout debut album, Louder, Please, boasts electrifying, hypnotic anthems with nods to 2000s club culture that are keeping that very energy alive two decades later.
Upon the first note of any of her songs, you’ll easily catch on to the fact that Rose is an it-girl in every sense. The British artist is making waves across the pond as she joins her party girl predecessor, Kesha, as a supporting act on the Tits Out Tour this summer. She’s also brushed shoulders with some of Hollywood’s elite off-stage, from Gracie Abrams to her longtime love and fellow up-and-comer, Harris Dickinson. If that wasn’t enough proof that Rose effortlessly oozes star power, then her long line of fans awaiting her arrival might do the trick.
“I had a 5 p.m. soundcheck at Jean’s, and as I left to get ready at the hotel, I saw a queue of fans wearing my merch, holding roses, and holding my CDs. Honestly, I wasn’t even sure anyone was going to show up. But the night was wild,” Rose exclusively tells Cosmopolitan of her pop-up show. “I played new remixes, jumped on the decks. The energy was unreal. Jean’s was so chic. I loved it, and I can't wait to be back mid-August to play Night Club 101.”
Luckily for us, Rose brought us along for her slinky, sublime, and sweat-filled pop-up show at Jean’s through her POV. So, come for her chic looks and signature wine-red hair flips, and stay for her iconic party girl photo captions, shared exclusively with Cosmo.
